Self Confessed Foodie

I just had such a great lunch at Bungalows Restaurant i have to share with you guys...
Oh i am a foodie, so expect many mentions of food in this blog...
I had not been to bungalows in a while (it used to be my go to spot a few years ago) but my friend raved of the food yesterday i had to go today, Thanks Viola...
I would have taken a picture of the meal except i was too interested in chowing it down...
You guys would have been salivating from just looking anyway...
And Bless them they did not scrimp on the ingredients which i am beyond pleased about!
Ordered the Bocca Crab Sandwich and Chicken Salad with Avocado to share...
It was a joy to see the large chunks of Avocado and grilled chicken in the salad and the sandwich was just as good...
I never understand how one can pay so much for food here and when it arrives you are too pissed to eat it.
Eating out all over the world is expensive but eating out in Nigeria is very very expensive, if i must pay so much i might as well get value for it!
The lunch i just had...VALUE...I think i must go back again soon...
So why so expensive? I know they factor in the cost of electricity and importing in fresh produce but common...

Johnny rockets berth in Lagos in December and everyone was yayyyy-ing as they did when KFC landed but after a few try outs calmly go back to their respective "mama-puts"...it is just burgers,Junk food sef... how can someone be paying top Naira for junk...
Wouldn't you rather go into Yellow Chilli and binge out on serious Nigerian food...Seafood Okra..YUMMY!!
So I ponder on if the restaurants particularly the international food franchisees are breaking even...
I notice that eventually they introduce economy meals to accommodate for the vast majority of the market they miss out on...those who do not lunch regularly at their outlets but visit once in a while on occasions...
With economic growth and in flux of expats, a market generally opens up to international food chains but we are yet to get to that point...I hear MacDonald says they need to import their burgers into Nigeria as a condition to entry so they can preserve their integrity...
I can imagine why they would say that, Agriculture is still vastly subsistence, so access to fresh produce is limited...

Okay this is becoming too serious, i was supposed to rave about my lunch at Bungalows and finish now i'm talking economic growth and subsistence agriculture..*breaths deeply*...
So yes guys try out bungalows when you can...
Now wishing they would read this post and give me free lunch vouchers for the rest of my life! haha

PS - I need to start taking my camera out and capturing a lot of what i blog about...

  2. yaaay... love the seafood okro at yellow chilli.. the okro is not so goeey and the prawn... wow, sure makes me want to relocate to the sea.. Lol. I agree with you that food is pricey in Nigeria.. i went to Dr roberts in ikeja, the portions are so miserable and the food takes forver, common did they hav to go to garden of eden to cut the leaves for my salad? I like the platter at oceanbasket but i think they need to employ consistency! If you live in ikeja you need to visit Rhapsodys at ikeja city mall..... finger licking head spinning pepperful bowl of chicken wings and their hummus is just like in cairo..... dont drool, sing the rhapsody!
